Gov. Jim Gibbons signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge promising to oppose and veto any and all efforts to increase taxes right before proposing the third largest tax increase in the state’s history and then refusing to veto it.
Now, apparently following the governor’s lead, GOP Assemblyman John Carpenter, who also signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge, has signed on as the ONLY Republican co-sponsor of a massive new tax hike (AB 277) on alcohol.
What in the hell is the matter with these Republicans? And they wonder why they’re in the minority?

Chuck,
It is not the tax increase but that Nevada is comprised of the least taxed citizenry in America…where can you go an be taxed less, Chuck.
What is your Plan B? Where will you move? NO state is chaeaper than Nevada.
Your first sentence here is pretty much incoherent and incomprehensible. Wanna take another whack at expressing what apparently passes for your “thoughts.”
As for taxes being relatively lower in Nevada, that’s one of the reasons I chose to move here and I intend to keep it that way. If you want a whole bunch of government services that we’re not going to provide here, why don’t YOU move?
